How often should I apply the lime recommendation on the soil report?

Introduction

The lime recommendations on our soil analysis report are equivalent to a one-off application which will correct soil pH and calcium balance. Future lime needs will depend on rates of soil acidification and should always be based on soil testing.

If the total lime application is beyond your budget for one season, or is greater than 3-4 tones/Ha then split the total over 2-3 years. If re-planting a perennial crop then the total lime application should be applied before replanting.

DO NOT exceed the total recommended rate of lime and always test your soils before adding more lime.
