How often should one carry out a soil test?

A soil test should be conducted if fertilizer is going to be applied or when problems occur during the growing season. At least once per year is ideal to keep in control of your soil fertility. In high value horticulture of floriculture more regular testing is needed to maintain fertilization at optimum levels.
